HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide an effective first aid response to infants and children in accordance with guidelines issued by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other recognised Australian peak clinical bodies.
The course is designed for workers in education and care environments who may be required to respond to first aid emergencies involving infants and children, including asthma and anaphylaxis incidents. It is relevant to early childhood educators, childcare workers, and educators supporting school-aged children in outside school hours care (OSHC) services and vacation care programs.
Course Duration
8 hours 30 minutes excluding pre-learning
Entry Requirements
Foundation skills in Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at ACSF Level 2 to 3.
Ability to use online learning platforms
Physical capacity to perform 2 minutes of continuous CPR while kneeling on the floor.
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
