This program provides professional knowledge and skills to plan and implement appropriate care and educational experiences for young children. This is a practical-based learning program, where students will also develop skills, knowledge and understanding of relative legal and ethical requirements, strategies and approaches to engage with young children and their families, methods and knowledge to facilitate children's interests, as well as knowledge and skills to foster holistic development and wellbeing. The qualification reflects the role of an early childhood educators who are responsible to assist room leader to design and implement curriculum.
Entry Requirements
Applicants demonstrate they have the foundation skills required to participate in the qualification. Any of the following types of evidence will show applicants can participate in the training and assessment of this qualification:

All applicants must be 18 years of age;

IELTS score of 6 or equivalent;

Working with children check

Evidence to show they have attained an Australian Year 12 or equivalent

Undertake a Language Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment

52 Weeks
(including holiday breaks)
Course Requirements

Scheduled structured training for a minimum of 20 hours per week

Undertake compulsory work placement of 160 hours

Record and reflect on the training activities using a Practical Placement Journal
